Why You Should Book Your Charlotte North Carolina Wedding Photographer BEFORE You Book Your Venue.

As a wedding photographer, OF COURSE I think the photog should be booked first! I DO have reasons behind this, though, and hopefully this article will assist you in your decision making process.

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS ARE MASTERS OF THEIR CRAFT

A good photographer can take stunning pictures in any environment whether you were able to book the venue of your dreams, like The Ballantyne Lodge, or not. They can make a backyard look like a fairytale. They can make your natural light dressing room images look like they were taken in a studio. The above image was from Holly and Bo's gorgeous Lake Wylie Wedding behind her aunt's lake house. Quite literally a backyard wedding! The images below were taken at The Clebourne House in Fort Mill, SC without any specialized lighting.

BOOKED UP VENUES!

Your venue could have booked up, and now you are left searching for a new venue for your date. Don't let that happen to your favorite photographer! The first 2 things to book up are the wedding venues and the good wedding photographers. I recommend booking your favorite photographer at least 1 year in advance. There is a new trend of couples booking less in advance, and this can cause a LOT of stress for the wedding day, because they have such a hard time finding vendors.

VENDOR EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE

Your wedding photographer (if localized) likely has experience with the venues in your area. Let's say you're looking for a barn venue, and you need certain accommodations; I have venues on my local list that I would be happy to recommend. and unfortunately. others that I would steer you away from. The photographer will be there the entire day, so they get a longer glimpse than anyone else what it's like to work with many of the vendors including the venues. The images below are from my hands down FAVORITE barn venue to work with in Monroe, NC. It's called the Seed Mill Barn, and they also have a larger venue called the Cotton Gin. BOTH are amazing barn venues with AC, heat, tons of options, and amazing customer service!

These are just some of the reasons I think you should book your wedding photographer first! I hope you all enjoyed this article and it has helped in your wedding planning in some way! Thanks for reading!!
